It's discouraging not to be able to do the things you use to do, such limitations cause frustration, emotional pain, negative feelings about oneself, even concluding you have 'no value' just to end up sucked into a whirlpool of despair.
Some isolate themselves because of the lack of understanding of the disease.
Suffering from RA or a Chronic Disease may cause anxiety about the future, a fear of becoming immobile or dependant on others, being left without a caregiver or fear of falling and breaking bones.
Family members likewise suffer emotional pain, being confronted daily with the suffering of their loved one.
Couples may experience severe marital problems due to the emotional challenges and financial strain that arise due to Chronic Disease.
Health care providers state the importance of learning to respect ones limitations, minimize fatigue and 'listen' to our bodies. With love and support we can cope to enjoy life and stay productive.
One daily inspiration came from my father just before he passed away........
"Live life on life's terms!"

Sandy,
Like rust my diabetes never sleeps. Its assault on my eyes, my nervous system and major organs is relentless.
Therefore, reading your link, your story, your resourcefulness and your courage are an inspiration...maybe a moment of epiphany, in a broad context, for me and probably all who read it.
Your triumph and ingenuity are a model and metaphor for all who battle the darker side of the human condition.
For your Mediterranean magic, I thank you.

I was introduced to this site about a week ago and have to say this is my first time writing on a blog for RA. I am 31 years old and was diagnosed with moderate to severe RA 3 years. I am a single mom (2 boys 16 months apart) and keep a full time job as a school teacher. Even as I write my fingers feel pain... I have a supportive and loving family that helps but still cannot help but feel sad over how I feel, the impact it has on those that love me and especially sad because I cannot be as active as I would like to be with my children. This troubles me the most b/c I end up pushing myself to the limit and suffereing with physical and emotional pain. Right now I have switched doctors and am hoping to get a better treatment plan. It seemed that every medication I took had a terrible side effect and I have always been the 1 in 10,000 chance to having such side effects. The only thing that has helped me were the steroids, but dealing with weight gain and the other side effects that taking them brings was also a traumatic experience. I pray every day for a cure and to wake up one day not feeling stiff and in terrible pain. As he rain falls and spring is upon us I cannot help but feel miserable b/c of the throbbing pain in my entire body. I feel for anyone living with this condition... All I can say to anyone dealing with RA is to keep fighting and to stay positive. It something works stick with and the best is yet to come...
I am a mom of a wonderful daughter who was diagnosed with RA last year at 13. I can honestly say that she is off all medicine thanks to a great product called Juice Plus. I would love to share this with everyone. It helps with all illnesses. Check out my website at www.christinesjuiceplus.com This truely is a blessing for our family. My dad also suffers from RA and is doing so much better!

There is a saying that prevention is better than cure. This saying true about the chronic disease. Because most of the chronic disease has no cure. But if you aware about the disease than you can prevent this disease. Best COPD treatment
